The knitters of our church have in the last few years provided the town with knitted angels, scarves for the daylight centre and a fantastic display of poppies last year.
This year we have turned our talents to making stars ready for Christmas. Some have been knitted, some made from fabric and we have branched out further this year and are making some from beads, card and other materials. We have a couple of coffee mornings planned to give everyone the chance to get involved.
The next one will take place on Saturday 16th November. There will be tea, coffee and cake available and the opportunity to make stars. You can take one home if you wish, but we hope that you would also like to make one to go on our fence to be taken by someone else – spreading the Christmas cheer.
The stars will be going up on our fence on the 14th December and everyone is welcome to come and help themselves. Please take one home to hang on your Christmas tree, take one for a friend, relative or neighbour who perhaps can’t get down to Kingsway. We really don’t want any left! Whilst there, take some time to read our Christmas story told from the point of view of the star.
We hope that everyone in our community has a peaceful and blessed time over the festive season. Please remember that we shall be having services over Christmas too, to which everyone is welcome and on the Sunday after Christmas we will be offering a soup and roll lunch to those who are alone or feeling a bit low after the fun and games.
